Research Interests

We are interested in dynamics of eco-evolutionary processes and how they can be read from studying genomic data. We model and analyze population genomic datasets of humans and other species, with applications to conservation biology and paleogenomics. We are also interested in an emerging species control technology called 'gene drives', and are using models to understand the ecological aspects of its potential deployment in the wild.

Dissertation Topics

  1. Modeling gene drive spillovers
  2. Ancient population genomics of immune-related processes
  3. Genetics of fragmentation processes in population networks
  4. Conservation genomics
  5. Predicting phenotypes of past populations from ancient genomes
  6. Machine learning methods for predicting conservation risks from genomic data
