The annual symposium of the Natural History Collections is an informal meeting where the researchers will update us about their present activities and future plans.
The symposium will be held in Hebrew.
In memory of Prof. Daniel Zohary, we are organizing a field trip (1.5-2 hours) to the Beit Oren area, in which Prof. Eviatar (Eibi) Nevo will talk about "Evolution canyon" or the “Israeli Galapagos”, a fascinating microsite near Oren junction.
Eibi will give a talk on evolution of life from viruses and bacteria to mammals, which can be demonstrated on site. He will also discuss the domestication of wheat and barley, whose traces can be found on the opposite slopes.
